Swim, Little Fishies

Well I have to say that, overall, swimming lessons went pretty well this year. Mason made great strides in 5 days and was swimming underwater in the deep-end of the pool by the week's end. Maybe next year he'll be brave enough to jump off the diving board....he couldn't quite muster the courage this year. Allie did pretty well considering these were her very first lessons. She did not love being dunked under the water and gave her teacher a little bit of attitude, but she ended up getting a lot more comfortable in the water and isn't that really what it's all about when you're two years old?

Summer Play Date

We had a fun play date with some friends from preschool at Saluda Splash. We made the mistake of going on a Friday and it was super crowded. Mason felt a little bit overwhelmed. Allie, however, LOVED it....as you can tell from the pictures below. Regardless of the crowd, we had a great time seeing our friends!! :)

Mother's Day Tea

Mason's class at preschool had a Mother's Tea for their moms and grandmas in honor of Mother's Day. We were served tea and chocolate "Thunder cake" (like the book) that the kids had made the day before. The kids sang songs for us and we got to enjoy a performance of "The Boy who cried Wolf," which couldn't have been any cuter!! (Mason was a towns-person.) The children had all made their very own gifts for their moms and even helped plant flowers in little planter baskets for us...... I'm seriously tearing up just thinking about it! It was just so sweet....definitely one of my favorite moments from all of Mason's time at preschool!!

Yes, I know that this is a terrible picture....Mason was just walking towards me too fast. But, his face is just beaming with pride....it melts my heart! Inside the white bag is my hand-made Mother's Day gift from him. Soooo sweet!!!

The Big Show

Allie started going to The Little Gym this past spring and loved every single minute of it! I was definitely surprised to see how fearless she is.....maybe we have a future gymnast on our hands....who knows?! We sure are proud of our girl!!

Easter Morning

We braved the sunrise service at church for Easter this year. It actually worked out really well, except for the kids were a bit crabby and wouldn't cooperate for pictures!! So, next year I will take pics of them in their Easter outfits BEFORE Easter....lesson learned!!
