Lately....

Lately, I have been terrible about updating the blog (again!) and am really hoping I will have some time to catch up over the next little while! Things have been busy for our family over the last several months...it has been a season of change and strong faith for us. After feeling unhappy for almost a year and saying quite a few prayers, Brian felt it was time to leave his job of 19 years in October. So, here we are 5 months later....and after lots and lots of praying and hoping....he finally found a great job and will start on Monday!! As much as I know he will miss spending the extra time with the kids, I am thankful that we will be able to get back to our old routine. Our family has been SO blessed to get some extra time together! Lately, one of our favorite things has been walking and enjoying picnics at the Riverwalk. I thought I would share a few pictures from our latest visit (poor Mason was at school on this trip!).

The Doctor is IN!

{Since it's been what seems like FOREVER...I thought I'd update the blog! Sorry to those who lost faith in me~ I will never go this long again!!}  

Allie and Mason have really enjoyed playing together this summer and I had to break out the camera and take some pictures when I saw them playing "doctor". (Aunt Nikki gave Allie an adorable doctor costume for her birthday.) So here we go....Doctor Allie is in!

A Date With My Favorite Girl

Since there was no preschool for Allie last Friday, we were able to enjoy a little "date" at the Botanical Gardens. The weather was beautiful, the flowers were fabulous, and we had a wonderful time. Thought I'd share some of my favorites moments....

The Best Part of Waking Up

I am NOT a morning person. {That might be a bit of an understatement.} Not to mention, I married someone who is even less of a morning person than I am.....and let's face it, I'm pretty hard to beat! So, to me, it makes perfect sense that our children would inherit this "I'm not a morning person" gene...I'm thinking they even got a double dose. Case in point.....

Lucky for us parents, there's a little thing called coffee that is a big MUST around here in the mornings. Seriously, you probably shouldn't even speak to me until I've had at least one cup......just ask my hubby. (ha!)  Lately, Allie has noticed how dependent we are on our  morning cup of joe and has been asking to try some. So, we starting putting a little bit of chocolate milk in a coffee mug for her......

The result? Let's just say we now have one more member of the family who can't go without her morning cup of  chocolate milk "coffee". Perhaps we are creating a monster, but I gotta say......maybe mornings aren't so bad after all.....especially when your coffee drinking buddy is this stinkin' cute!! :)
